Nightmare is the disorder of dream that is characterised by the sudden awakening in the night being terrified. It is unnecessary to describe what person feels after the night mare as everybody experienced it at least once in their life.

Usually a person gets up from his/her bed, cries, shouts, yells, walks about the room or the apartment.

The eyes of the person are opened widely, his/her heart beats intensively and he/she begins to shiver. The episodes of the dream may last from one to several minutes after being awake.

It is very hard to talk to a person when he had the nightmare as this person doesn't recognise anybody and doesn't realise the presence of other people in the room. In fact a person is shocked for several minutes after the dream.

In a few minutes a person falls asleep and usually sleeps up to the morning and doesn't remember anything afterwards. Nightmares usually come after an hour or four hours after falling asleep when the phase of deep sleep predominates.

Nightmares are characteristic features of sleep of children and are not very spread among adults. But still adults may experience it and then they are the indicators of aggressiveness, excitement, troubles.

Nightmares usually have serious and complicated plot with participation of a person who sleeps.
